Our collection of canned foods and non-perishable items for the TV6 Canathon have come to a close for 2019 and we are happy to announce our total amount donated from Limestone FCU! This year LFCU members graciously donated 864.30 pounds and a cash total of $1,720.00 as of December 3rd, 2019! These donations were accumulated from our Holiday Skip-A-Pay Program which will continue until January 31st, 2020. During the holidays, we offer LFCU members to skip one loan payment to help lighten the load of their finances. This year, we encouraged members to donate 20 canned food items or a minimum cash donation of $20 when signing up for our Skip-A-Pay program, in lieu of the $40 processing fee.
Along with member donations, LFCU staff donated $420 in cash donations, which was then matched by Limestone FCU, giving a total of $840 to spend on canned goods. If you haven’t seen the video of our shopping trip, take a look below!
With a total of 2,000 pounds in canned goods and non-perishable foods, we’d like to thank everyone who donated and made this years TV6 Canathon a success. We are beyond proud to contribute to this worthwhile event, helping fill our local food pantries and giving back to our community.
All donations that were collected were given to our local Good Neighbor Services. The TV6 Canathon officially began on November 11th and wrapped up on December 4th with a live, one-hour, commercial-free TV6 Canathon program.
