We are excited to announce a new program that makes saving money simple, introducing Stash. Earn. Cash! This program allows you to automatically save your change from LFCU Debit Card purchases and stash it into a new Stash Savings Account, earning you 5% APR*. Have you been trying to start a savings fund but just keep falling short? This will be an easy way to get started and you don’t have to do anything different – just use your LFCU Debit Card!
Start small and watch your money grow!
How It Works
Any LFCU Debit Card purchase (used as debit or credit) that isn’t a whole dollar amount automatically rounds up to the nearest dollar (ex. $5.15 becomes $6.00). Then the difference (in this case $0.85) is deposited into your Stash Savings Account at the end of each business day.
Members who have a LFCU Checking Account and Debit Card can opt-in by clicking here.
Your New Stash Account
After opting-in, you’ll see a new Stash Account listed on your mobile app and internet teller titled EARN. Deposits from your round up transactions will be stored here along with LFCURewards Redemptions, Member Loyalty Bonuses, any cash incentives offered by LFCU, and dividends earned on the account balance.
How do I keep track of my Stashed Cash?
You will be able to view your new Stash Account on your mobile app and internet teller. You’ll see a new account titled EARN. You can view the balance and individual transactions just like any other account you have.
Can I transfer my Stashed Cash to another account?
Yes, you can withdraw or transfer from your Stash Account up to six times per month.
Can I transfer additional money to be saved to my Stash Account?
No, the Stash Account is strictly used for deposits from your round up transactions, LFCU Rewards Redemptions, Member Loyalty Bonuses, any cash incentives offered by LFCU, and dividends earned on balance.
Are dividends paid on my Stash Account?
Yes, you will earn dividends on this account. Your Stash Account currently pays a higher rate of dividends for balances $50-$2500. See the TIS Schedule for current rates.
Can I combine my Stash Account with my spouse or other household member?
No, currently payments are transferred to the account tied to the debit card. LFCU will not be responsible for any errors or account ownership issues with regard to round up transfers.
What if I don’t have available funds at the end of the day?
The automatic round up transfer will be cancelled and no fee or charges will occur.
Can I cancel Stash.Earn.Cash. all together?
Yes, if you don’t want your transactions to be automatically rounded up and deposited into your Stash Account, simply send us a written request to cancel the program.
