What Grocery Items to Buy in Bulk

Quick Tips for Buying in Bulk

Buying items in bulk might seem like a great idea, but it’s not always the best move. Just like any purchase, each situation is different. Some items you should buy in bulk, some items you should not. Here’s a look at the items that you should buy in bulk.

Breakfast Foods

Breakfast foods like oatmeal and cereal are great items to buy in bulk because they have a long shelf life. You can also buy packaged breakfast pastries in bulk for the same reason.

Canned Goods

This is the one everyone knows. Canned food can last for decades if they are undamaged. So stock up on things like soups, pasta sauces, beans, tuna, and more.

Meats

Meat can be expensive, so if you can, buy it in bulk. If you see meat on sale, go crazy. Meat can be frozen and used over a long period. Just be sure you pack it correctly to avoid freezer burn.

Cleaning Supplies

Cleaning supplies also last pretty much forever, so don’t be shy about buying them in bulk. Some studies suggest laundry detergent loses its effectiveness over time, but the savings provided by buying in bulk make it a worthy gamble.

Pasta

Dried pasta is another great food to buy in bulk. Not only does it last forever, pasta is an easy, quick meal for those hectic weekday nights.

Do One Thing: Make a list of bulk items that you will use and stock up on them the next time you go to the grocery store.
