The First Pitch Competition | Manistique Middle & High School in the Community Room
Please join us on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 5:30 p.m., at Manistique Middle & High School in the Community Room for the First Pitch Competition of Learn It. Plan It. Pitch It. A student entrepreneurial development program sponsored by Limestone FCU, MSU Extension of Schoolcraft County, and Upward Community Youth, Inc. Attendees can expect to watch and listen as 6-10 selected students present their business ideas. These select students will be competing for an opportunity to bring their ventures to life. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Learn It. Plan It. Pitch It. (LIPIPI) is a six-week program for middle and high school students designed to inspire students to conceptualize, refine, or expand upon their product or service ideas with the potential for commercialization. Through a series of workshops, personalized mentoring sessions with industry leaders, and specialized training in crafting persuasive pitches, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to transform their ideas into viable business ventures. Upon completion of the program, 6-10 students will be selected to advance to a pitch style competition.

The Pitch Competition consists of two rounds. During the First Pitch Competition, students will have 5 minutes to present their product/service idea. Awards will be distributed for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with prizes of $250, $150, and $75. Up to six participants will progress to the Second Pitch Competition. During the Second Pitch Competition, students will have 12 minutes to present their product/service idea. Similar to the First Pitch Competition, awards will be distributed for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with prizes of $750, $500, and $250. Additionally, judges will consider applications for investment into viable business ventures.
