Adulting 101

A three-week session designed to provide students with tips and tricks to financially navigate life as an adult.

Hosted by Limestone Federal Credit Union, this three-week no-cost financial course is designed for students who are new to making financial decisions or those who simply want to brush up on their skills. Our team will guide students through a series of exercises aimed at building essential financial skills and the confidence needed to navigate their personal finances.

Join us for the second session on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. for pizza, friends, and finances! If you can’t attend all of the sessions, no worries. Let us know when you register which session(s) you will be attending.

 

 

Session Schedule

Session 1 – Money Mindset

February 8, 2024 | 3:00 p.m. | The Hub @ LSSU

Through introspective exercises, group discussions, and case studies, you’ll gain self-awareness about your financial habits and develop a customized plan for achieving financial well-being. This course is designed to empower you to make informed financial decisions, reduce money-related stress, and help students take control of their financial future.

Session 2 – Financial Goals

February 15, 2024 | 3:00 p.m. | The Hub @ LSSU

Explore the art of mindful spending and identify financial goals. In this session, we will identify SMART Goals that will help outline your financial future. SMART Goals – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, & Time Based.

Session 3 – Student Loans, Credit Cards, Debt Management, & Wrap-up! 

February 22, 2024 | 3:00 p.m. | The Hub @ LSSU

Get a grip on student loans, interest rates, and repayment options. Learn how to manage debt responsibly and avoid common pitfalls. We’ll also delve into credit cards and credit scores to help you build a strong financial plan. During the final session we’ll create a customized plan for the future, and set up important events tailored to support your financial goals and newfound financial knowledge.
